Vertigo & Other Things

I finished Coronet and then began Vertigo, another hat. This was such a great pattern that I have made two of them already. One for a friend at work and one, of course, for me! It's a free pattern download from Knitpicks. Since my last post, I also completed a scarf for my boss. I used the Multi-Directional Scarf pattern (again).

Coronet: Cabled Hat

I finished one pair of wrist warmers (Fetching) & decided to make something different for co-worker #2 so I am making Coronet from the Winter 2003 issue of Knitty. I am using the Paprika colorway of Red Heart Soft Yarn and size 8 (5.0mm) Clover Bamboo circular needles.

Fetching Complete

Coronet begins...

The honey colored yarn you see to the left is my provisional cast on. Once the cable band is complete, I will need to graft the two ends together. I'm not very good at the kitchner stitch, so I may just do a 3-needle bind off. That's what I used for the cuff of my Fiesta Feet!

I just found out about a craft circle at work a little over a week ago & went for the first time last Thursday. We meet again today at lunch and I can't wait. I'll bring Coronet and work on her there. Last week I worked on my Fiesta Feet! which has currently moved to the back burner so I can complete my gift knitting for my co-workers.

It's cold at work...

...so I am making a bunch of wrist warmers for some coworkers. I am using Fetching from the Summer 2006 issue of Knitty.

I cast on last night for the first pair and promptly finished one hand within a few hours. I cast on for the second hand this morning. I am using Red Heart Soft Yarn in the Honey colorway, a worsted weight acrylic yarn, size 6 US (4.0mm), 32" Susan Bates Silverado circular needles. It's a fun & EASY pattern. This pattern had something new for me - a Picot bind off. I had never done that before. The pattern explains how to do this, but you can also find an explanation here. You'll have to scroll down the page a little bit to find it.

Fetching, Left Hand

The other two pairs will be in Guacamole & Paprika:

Here's where I am at with the Fiesta Feet!:
