Felted Kitty Bed

I finished the kitty bed but I am not too happy with the felting results. I washed the thing FIVE times and it still did not felt all that much. I used Lionbrand Landscapes yarn and will NOT be using this yarn again for felting. It did not live up to its labeling for felting. It also took DAYS to dry.

Here's the finished product. Not only did the felting give me trouble, but none of my 3 cats even want to use it. See how Scooter is lying outside the bed??

I'm not surprised you didn't have the best result with felting. I have some of that yarn, and like it as is but it's only 50% wool, which means it only 50% felts. Bummer. Your kitty bed is cute anyway though :) Maybe they'll get used to it...

I bet one of these days you will find a cat sleeping in their custom made bed. I'm thinking about making one for my Pomeranian.

I use size 10.5 or 11 needles with worsted weight yarns for felting. But all I've felted with is 100% wool.
